High Heels in Wrocław — dance in heels for women

High heels is dance in heels: choreography about strength, femininity and the way you carry yourself across the room. At PALMA Studio at ul. Armii Krajowej 14C in Wrocław's Krzyki district we dance it in small, women-only groups — teaching you to walk and dance in heels from scratch, with safe technique first. English speakers are welcome too — classes run in English as well as Polish, Ukrainian and Russian.

High Heels

Who high heels classes are for

  • Women who have wanted to try for ages but cringe at the thought of doing it in front of strangers — our room is small and women-only.
  • Complete beginners who have never danced. We teach you to walk across the room in heels first, and only then to dance.
  • Those who feel great in stilettos about town but want to learn to move in them with real confidence.
  • Women rebuilding their self-confidence — after a long break from movement, after life changes, simply after a hard stretch.
  • Anyone looking for training that strengthens the legs, glutes and deep muscles while actually being a pleasure.
  • Those preparing for a specific occasion — a wedding, a party, a photo shoot — who want to feel free in movement.

What a class looks like

The first part is a long, thorough warm-up — and in this class it is no formality. We warm up the feet, ankles, calves, hips and spine, because they take over the work in heels. Only a warm, stable ankle lets you dance safely.

Then comes strengthening and walking technique: foot work, alignment of the pelvis and spine, weight transfer, walking across the room, stops, simple turns. This is the foundation — a well-set posture turns the heel from an obstacle into a tool.

The third part is choreography. We teach it in phrases, slowly and on counts, then at tempo and to music. We return to one routine over several sessions, so the first class is not an exam — it is an introduction.

We finish with stretching, paying particular attention to the calves, feet and front of the thighs, and with release after the work in heels. In a small group the trainer sees every person and can correct alignment on the spot — exactly the element that goes missing in big, crowded studios.

What dancing in heels gives you

  • Confidence — the most tangible effect of these classes and the most common reason women stay for the long run.
  • Femininity and awareness of your own body: you learn how you move and how you want to move.
  • Strong legs, calves and glutes — working in heels keeps those areas constantly engaged.
  • Stability and strength in the feet and ankles, built through technique and strengthening, not just by walking in stilettos.
  • Upright posture and deep-muscle work — heels mercilessly expose where the body "folds", so you quickly learn to hold it.
  • Ease in heels beyond the studio too: at a wedding, at work, on a night out.
  • An hour entirely for yourself, in women-only company, with no judging and no audience.

What to bring to class

  • Comfortable sportswear — leggings or shorts and a top; many people like to see their leg work in the mirror.
  • A bottle of water.
  • Footwear: come to your first class in trainers; later we recommend dance shoes or heels.
  • Carry your heels in a bag and change into them in the studio — a clean sole is the condition for a safe turn, and respect for the floor.
  • Socks for the warm-up and strengthening part, if you prefer not to do it in shoes.
  • A hair tie and a small towel.
  • Nothing else. Mats and equipment are provided at the studio.
