Why Small Groups Are Better Than Big Gyms
Why are small groups better than big gyms? Individual attention, safety, atmosphere and consistency. Discover the advantages of small groups.
Read moreLatino solo is dance to Latin rhythms in which you dance alone — no partner, and no coordinating diaries with anyone. At PALMA Studio at ul. Armii Krajowej 14C in Wrocław's Krzyki district we teach it in small women's groups: from the basic step and hip work, through technique, to short routines danced to music. New to Polish? No problem — trainers teach in English, Ukrainian and Russian as well.
We start with a warm-up to music — waking up the hips, spine and ankles so the body is ready for a faster tempo. It is also the easiest moment to catch the pulse of the Latin rhythms, before the steps come in.
Then comes technique: basic steps, hip work, body alignment, arm work. We break each movement down into its parts and repeat it as many times as it takes — in a small group there is time for the trainer to come over and correct your form.
The third part is choreography: short sequences that we piece together and dance to music. You do not need to remember them after the first class — we come back to them at the next sessions until they settle into the body.
We finish with stretching and winding down. You leave sweaty but relaxed — without the feeling of having just survived a brutal workout.

See the price listNo. Latino solo is a dance for one person — the whole choreography is built so you dance alone. You do not need to come with anyone or find anyone in the room. That is the main difference between these classes and partner-dance schools.
No. We start with the basic steps and break every movement into parts. We work in small groups, so the trainer sees each person and matches the pace to the participants' level — and she can explain anything in English, Polish, Ukrainian or Russian. If you are only just starting, you are in the right place with us.
Come to your first class in trainers — they are perfectly enough to learn the steps. Later we recommend dance shoes or heels: they give better contact with the floor in turns and change how the foot works. Do not buy them blind before your first visit — first check whether this dance is for you.
Salsa is usually danced in a pair and teaches leading and following a partner. Latino solo takes Latin rhythms — salsa among them — and arranges them into choreography for one person. So you learn the work of your own body, technique and expression, not communication with a partner. You need no one to start, and no one to continue.
The honest answer: the class itself is intense, endurance-style effort that burns calories and strengthens the legs, glutes and deep muscles. But body-shape results depend on regularity and on your lifestyle as a whole — sleep, food and daily activity. One class a week will improve your fitness, posture and mood; actual weight change is a much bigger picture than dance alone.
Once a week is entirely enough to start — the body has time to memorise the steps between classes. If you want faster progress in technique and fitness, twice a week is a comfortable rhythm that is easy to sustain over the long run.
A trial class costs 50 zł and comes with no obligation. It is a single entry that you book online in the Fitssey system — you come, meet the trainer, the group and the studio's atmosphere, and decide about a pass later.
You cancel the booking yourself in the Fitssey app — in the "My classes" tab, choose the class and tap "Cancel". For adult classes you can do this without losing the entry up to 6 hours before the start; cancelling later means the class counts as used.
Come in, meet the studio and your trainer, get a feel for the atmosphere — a trial class costs 50 zł and commits you to nothing. Booking online in Fitssey takes a moment.
